Telescope - Beginners. Any advice?

Hello. I just bought a Konus reflector F 500 4.5 "/ 114mm telescope. It came with two lenses - a of 17 mm and 10 mm, a Red Dot that is placed on the side to see where you are looking, a Moon Filter, pc-ROM, etc. Any advice for start-up? I set foot according to the manual, but not yet put the real telescope in it yet. It says I have to set the latitude of the location, but do not really understand. I put a button just above the three legs meet my latitude, but in the telescope would be a good angle is pronounced. Is this normal? Any advice for when I first? I'm in the northeast of England. First, the main thing to remember is patience. I'm not familiar with this brand of telescope. Use 17mm to find the things first. Then get the object centered in the eyepiece before switching to the 10 mm. I recommend buying a 25mm and even 40mm eyepiece as well. Orion is the best.
