What will I be able to see with this telescope?
Im going to buy a telescope so soon and I am .... 16 and I'm just doing this as a hobby, so I'm not spend much money or something .... As long as your expectations are too high, you will at least temporarily satisfied. Normally, I would not recommend an area like this. As mentioned above, is not really a very good scope. You will be able to see all the planets and the four Galilean satellites of Jupiter. You might even see a glimpse of the Jupiter's bands, and you can see the rings of Saturn. details of the Moon is very nice. A few open clusters will look good on a dark night, but globular galaxies more clusters will be an exercise in frustration. The real problem with a range like this, not optics, but the way it is mounted. The tripod and the quality of the mount itself will be difficult to find something, or keep it in the field of view for more than a few seconds. As a result, you may be frustrated by the difficulty will when actually being used at night in the dark. If you are a patient person, you will probably be able to see enough to - hopefully - keep their interest alive until you can afford a better instrument.
