Click OK. For starters, the Orion 100mm AstroView is a 100mm f / 6 refractor on an EQ-3 mount type with stamped aluminum legs. All OMNI series seem to be in EQ-5 mount with tubular steel legs, which is a lot more and platform slid stable. The closest in the series reaches OMNI the Orion 100mm f / 6 f/10 achromatic are 102mm and 102mm ED f / 9. Both exceed the Orion, the achromatic f/10 virtue of its longer focal length and f9 ED based both on its longest focal length lens and ED. I would recommend any of them. I have owned and liked both the two, although ED is much better than the achromatic albeit at a much higher price. My main reservation in all these areas is that you telescope can achieve significantly better for your money by choosing a Newtonian Reflector on a Dobsonian mount. Although I had two of these refractors, I find myself _using_ my biggest spotlight all the time, while my refractors dust.
